Treating Pain Through My Eyes, My Heart, My Hands

More than 20 years ago I was injured in an event that changed my life’s direction.  As I searched for answers, I began my studies in massage therapy.  Treating neck, back and shoulder pain is something that I feel passionate about and whenever I have the opportunity, I like to update and add to my “tool kit” in helping others reduce pain caused by injury and stress.

Injuries in the neck, back and shoulder region affect over 1/3 of the adult population and they can be very disabling and costly.  Pain and disability caused by a traumatic injury, aging, posture imbalances or repetitive wear-and-tear may result in chronic pain.  X-ray findings often do not correlate with the symptoms, yet the root cause of the pain needs to be addressed.

Over the years, I have attended educational workshops that cover the latest clinical techniques for assessing and treating neck, back and shoulder pain, dysfunction and the underlying causes.  These courses present effective treatments and exercises that improve posture and functional movement which are important to pain management.

During my first studies in Massage Therapy a door was opened to a whole new world of alternative and natural treatments. As my interests grew in the ancient and traditional healing methods my continuing course studies have included holistic practices such as Shiatsu, Thai Massage and Ayurveda.

I take a holistic approach to treating pain caused by injury and stress and by combining the natural and clinical techniques in my work; the body can balance on various levels including the mind and spirit. My job is to create a safe place for healing and nurturing that enhances your wellness.
